Hanami(花見) 2016.4.3 Hanami actually means flower viewing and is a Japanese traditional event in spring.  It is said that the event was started at Nara Period, in 8th century. The court nobles enjoyed plum flowers at first ,but it was soon later changed to cherry blossoms.  Even today, many Japanese enjoy the blossoms while eating, drinking, chatting and sometimes playing music. It has been colder than usual in this spring  and the cherry blossom seems to be late.   Yesterday I walked around near my town and found many beautiful cherry blossoms  and the people enjoying under the trees. 千鳥ヶ淵の桜 2016.3.31 : The cherry blossoms at the moat of the Imperial palace  taken by my wife
